Bad Place
I’m about to graduate from college. That’s good, I guess - I’ve been ready to be done since the beginning of the semester. The problem is that now I’ve switched off almost completely. This isn’t such a big deal as I’ve gotten almost all of my work for my classes done. Almost. I’ve still got some papers to do, as well as a couple of things I wanted to get done before my time here ended, but I just can’t bring myself to do them. I’ve talked to people about it and they tell me that that’s a normal thing to be going through right now - it’s kind of like how a prisoner is about to get off with only six months left in lock up and then he tries to run away. The anticipation becomes too much to deal with, the light at the end of the tunnel brighter than anything he’s ever seen, and it’s just too much to wait for that light to come to him that he has to go charging for it.

Migraines
I try to give myself the leeway of one day I just totally fuck up. Today was that day for me.
I try not to give myself such a hard time in general, especially when it’s something about me that’s beyond my control. I started having migraines when I was four. I went to neurologists, general practitioners, took cat scans, X-rays, took drugs, psychotherapy. Anything you might think would figure something out only lead to one conclusion: I got migraines, but there was no medical reason for them.
I don’t see the need to describe them to anyone here - chances are anyone who is capable of adding is by this point able to understand what one is. My big issue now, the main issue throughout my life, is how they interrupt my life. Missing classes. Missing friends. Just missing everything. I used to see them as a sort of double-edged blade, because although I went through excruciating pain for hours on end with no relief other than sitting in a piping hot shower in the dark, my skin pruning to the point of tautness, I still got to be alone. I didn’t find much comfort in other people when I was younger; even now it’s tough for me to find solace in the company of others. Maybe it was because I was teased, but I think it mostly had to do with not having to deal with my own anxiety of being the reason I was teased. I didn’t get people. Frankly, I don’t know if I do now as opposed to being able to hide it better now.
I missed two classes today. I’m fucking pissed.
